Dance

Marguerite trained at London Studio Centre and London Contemporary Dance School, graduating with a BA(Hons) degree in Contemporary Dance in 2003. She has since worked with a number of independent choreographers including Rick Nodine and Jan De Schynkel, as well as participating in research work with Miranda Penell, Janet Randell and Carol Brown. In 2004 she received the Marion North mentoring scheme award from the Bonnie Bird Choreography Fund and has since continued to develop her own choreographic voice. Most of her earlier pieces have a strong research focus and were facilitated through the Creative Space programmes lead by Caroline Salem at Clarence Mews. In 2005 Chisenhale Dance Space supported her research into the use of rules in choreographic practice through their Artists Programme. Marguerite has shown her work as part of Resolution! (2004, 2006 and 2009), London Design Festival (2006) and London Architecture Week (2006). In July 2010 she completed her postgraduate studies in choreography at London Contemporary Dance School under the supervision of Sue Maclennan and Karen Greenhough. Her collaborators include Michael Wright (composer), Anita Mahtani (composer), Julia Kalache (designer), Rebecca Page (artist), Natalie Jones (lighting designer), Ross Blake (composer) and Verena Leo (Set designer). She is currently a bursary artist at Dance Digital in Essex.
